For the second year in a row, we are proud to announce that one of Port Property’s residential developments has been selected by the Maine Real Estate and Development Association (MEREDA) as a Notable Project! Our Riverdam community in Biddeford, Maine, was recently recognized as one of seven notable developments from 2021.
Held annually, MEREDA’s Notable Project Awards honor exemplary projects across the state, highlighting standout projects that represent top industry practices. As the state’s leading organization of commercial real estate owners, developers, and related service providers, MEREDA pays particular attention to projects that embody the Association’s mission of fair and responsible development.
Located at 24-28 Pearl Street in downtown Biddeford, Riverdam (originally known as the “Riverdam Mill Complex”) was purchased in May of 2019 and has since been transformed into a distinguished apartment community. Built from two 19th century industrial buildings, Riverdam features authentic, historic characteristics while offering modern amenities and high-end finishes.
Riverdam was selected as a 2021 MEREDA Notable Project based on the following criteria:
- Environmental Sustainability
- Difficulty of the Development
- Uniqueness
- Economic Impact
- Energy Efficiency
- Social Impact
- Job Creation
Riverdam is also home to a variety of local businesses (including Blaze Brewery and ToGather) and offers residents a true live, work, play experience on the banks of the Saco River. Thank you to all of our partners who have been involved in the creation and success of Riverdam for the past four years (including Acorn Engineering, The Congress Group, Ryan Senatore Architecture, Maine Street Capital, NBT Bank, Porta & Company, Bernstein Shur, and more).
Port Property was recognized during an award ceremony at MEREDA’s Annual Real Estate Spring Conference on May 24, 2022, at the Holiday Inn By the Bay in Portland. Congratulations to the other 2022 recipients!
