Macarthur Gardens
The MacArthur Gardens is made up of seven two-story brick apartment buildings on the Eastern Promenade, Walnut Street and Montreal Street. Each building includes eight or nine cozy one-bedroom units with hardwood floors. Some of these units have ocean views; all are within easy walking distance to the water, as well as the tennis and basketball courts, playground, walking paths, and all the other great amenities of the Eastern Promenade. These apartments are all about location. Rents include heat, hot water and water/sewer. Card-operated laundry is located in the basement of each building.
The East End neighborhood can be found on the far eastern end of Portland’s peninsula. These apartment homes are near popular dining on Washington Avenue and Munjoy Hill. Residents also have easy access to the Eastern Promenade, a 68-acre public park and recreation area overlooking Casco Bay with views of two different lighthouses. The Eastern Prom Trail is a 2.1-mile paved trail, popular with area residents for jogging and bike rides. The Prom also has baseball fields, basketball and tennis courts, a playground and a public beach, the East End Beach, for East End residents to enjoy!

Utilities & Services

If any utility company needs access to a secured area of the building, please call Port Property’s Non-Emergency Maintenance Line at 207-699-2219 at least 24 hours in advance. Residents should leave their name, new address, and the connection date.
Note: Please do not schedule utilities to be turned on during the weekend or after hours if Port Property is required for access or assistance.
Laundry
Coin-op laundry machines are located in the basement of each building. The card machine that must be used to transfer money onto the card is located at 13 Montreal Street (the courtyard side).
Note: To ensure minimal disruption, residents are asked to refrain from using the laundry facilities before 8 am and after 8 pm.
Amenities
Storage units are available in the basement of the building.
Note: Residents are required to use the unit labeled with their apartment number.
Parking
Please contact Port Property to discuss on-site parking.
During parking bans, parking is available at the Boat Launch off the Promenade. For further information about on-street parking and City of Portland parking bans, please contact the City of Portland or visit their website.
Trash
The specified trash day is Wednesday.
A dumpster is located at 16 Walnut Street. To ensure the property is kept clean, residents must properly tie their own trash bags and place them directly inside the building’s dumpsters.
If residents dispose of household trash and/or large items in or around the building, they will be charged for removal and disposal.
Please use the recycling totes, which are kept on the property, for single sort recyclables. Port Property is responsible for placing the totes curbside on a weekly basis.
