Port Property is pleased to announce that leasing is underway at One York, an 11-unit adaptive-reuse apartment community at 1 York Street in Biddeford’s downtown mill district. Scheduled for November 1 occupancy, One York is the latest investment in the city by Reveler Development, the parent company of Port Property, and builds on Reveler’s growing portfolio of award-winning residential and mixed-use developments.
Over the past six years, Reveler and Port Property have helped bring new energy and housing to Biddeford through projects including Riverdam and The Eddy, as well as The Levee, a multi-phase master plan project that was recently completed. With One York, that work continues on a more intimate scale—restoring an historic building at the heart of the city’s industrial history.
“One York is the latest chapter for our talented teams in Biddeford,” said John Laliberte, CEO of Reveler Development. “From Riverdam and The Eddy to the completion of The Levee, we have seen the extraordinary potential of this city firsthand. This project allows us to continue that momentum by preserving an important piece of Biddeford’s history and creating quality homes in the center of it all.”
A stately red-brick landmark, One York has long stood at the threshold of Biddeford’s mill district. For much of its history, the three-story building was known as Building 30 or The Counting House, where workers came to collect their wages. In later years, it served as the mill store, selling blankets made in the mills to the city’s residents.
The rehabilitation of this significant property was made possible through a partnership with Maine Preservation, a financial partner in the project’s state historic rehabilitation tax credit. Maine Preservation works statewide to protect Maine’s treasured historic assets and reinvests returns from projects such as One York into future preservation efforts.
“We are pleased to partner with Reveler on the rehabilitation of One York and to see this historic Biddeford building return to full productive use,” said Tara Kelly, Executive Director of Maine Preservation. “Projects like this demonstrate how preservation can help strengthen communities—protecting the places that tell Maine’s story while creating new opportunities for people to live, work, and invest in our downtowns.”
One York will offer studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments—including one workforce housing unit. Each residence blends contemporary conveniences with the building’s historic character. The apartments feature high ceilings, large windows, wood floors and other original details, alongside granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and energy-efficient heat pumps for heating and cooling.
Residents will have access to professional property management, 24/7 emergency maintenance, in-unit laundry, a mail room, trash and recycling service, fiber-ready internet and available assigned on-site parking. Located on Main Street near shops, restaurants, and businesses, One York also offers convenient access to Biddeford’s acclaimed RiverWalk.
Reveler acquired the property in July 2025, and its construction team self-performed the renovation. Partners Bank is the project’s lead lender, and Southern Maine Planning and Development Commission supported cleanup and remediation through an EPA Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) grant.
